The campaigns
King's Fertility, World Health Week
The angle
Delays to IVF treatment during lockdown were estimated to cut the live birth rate after IVF by 0.5%, just as certain clinics across the UK were authorised to resume treatment.
On air
A fertility expert from King's Fertility
The result
10 items of coverage reaching 2.1 million, including Radio News Hub and BBC Radio Leeds.
Bio-Strath wanted to raise awareness of Bio-Strath as a way to boost health during World Health Week and be its sole supplement brand.
The message
Bio-Strath is a clinically trialled herbal yeast formula to help with tiredness, the immune system and recovery from illness. A new laboratory study suggests it can enhance the absorption of nutrients from food and supplements.
The angle
For World Health Week, the pitch asked whether the £400 million a year the UK spends on supplements is being well spent. New evidence suggested many supplements are not absorbed efficiently by the body.
On air
An expert from Bio-Strath
The result
19 items of coverage reaching 3.1 million, including Sky News Radio.
Medpac wanted to educate the public about Medpac's role in medical emergencies at school, on trips, in sport and in daily life.
The message
Medpac is a sturdy, lightweight, bright orange case that lets people carry medication at all times, with a photo ID card and treatment card so it can be used quickly in an emergency.
The angle
Around four million adults and children in the UK must carry emergency medication at all times, yet many schools have no clear process for telling teachers what to do in an emergency. A storage case with photo ID filled the gap.
The result
25 items of coverage (17 interviews and 8 on-air competitions) reaching 3.3 million.
Dental Complaints Service, World Health Week
The aim
Dental Complaints Service wanted to raise awareness of the Dental Complaints Service and how to pursue or resolve a complaint about private dental care.
The message
The Dental Complaints Service is free, independent of the NHS and Government, and aims to resolve complaints fairly, swiftly and transparently. Patients should talk to their dental professional first.
The angle
The service that handles complaints about private dental care revealed complaints were up 17% in the year to April. It dealt with over 1,800 cases and resolved two thirds in under a week.
On air
The chair of the service's advisory board
The result
19 items of coverage reaching 10.0 million, including BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio Ulster, BBC Radio Newcastle.
British Heart Foundation wanted to raise awareness that an expanding waistline is a risk factor for heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes.
The message
Men are at risk if their waist passes 37 inches and at high risk above 40 inches, yet most do not know how to measure it correctly.
The angle
A new report found British men underestimate their waist size by 2.1 inches, with the average English waist at 37.9 inches. Three charities launched the Active Fat campaign, warning a growing waistline raises the risk of heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes.
On air
A senior cardiac nurse from the British Heart Foundation, a health information officer from Cancer Research UK and a clinical adviser from Diabetes UK
The result
16 items of coverage reaching 4.7 million, including Sky News Radio and BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation, World Health Week
The aim
Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation wanted to use World Health Week to raise awareness of the charity and options for people with diabetes, such as its D-Diet.
The message
The charity was set up to explain the links between diet and health, and offers a diet tailored to the needs of people with diabetes.
The angle
For World Health Week the charity launched the 'D-Diet', promoted as a way to reverse type 2 diabetes, in a country where 2.8 million people have been diagnosed. A 21-year study of over 25,000 adults found vegetarians and vegans had a 45% lower risk of diabetes.
On air
The charity's founder, a nutritional therapist
The result
17 items of coverage reaching 850k, including BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
Pet Drugs Online wanted to raise awareness of pet illnesses around World Health Week and position itself as the UK's leading online pet medication provider.

On air
A veterinary surgeon
The result
26 items of coverage reaching 2.8 million, including 97.4 Cool FM, Downtown Radio and BBC Radio Norfolk.
World Health Week is a week created by Relations Group for UK health, wellbeing and medical brands to share advice on radio, from nutrition and sleep to fertility and dental care. It is separate from the World Health Organization's World Health Day on 7 April. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
