For 10% of Britons, Christmas Day is the only day the whole family gets together, and a study found 54% of people regret not spending more time with their grandparents while they were alive. A week before Start Your Family Tree Week, which begins on Boxing Day, we built a broadcast PR campaign for Findmypast and Genes Reunited around making the most of that time. A family history expert from Findmypast joined a radio day of interviews, sharing tips on really appreciating family, especially grandparents and older relatives. The campaign secured 11 items of radio coverage reaching 2.2 million, including Sky News Radio and BBC Radio Oxford.
