On the 25th World Heart Day, around 480 people in the UK would die from heart and circulatory disease, and twice as many Brits live with heart disease as with cancer and Alzheimer's combined. For Boston Scientific, we built a broadcast PR campaign around a powerful personal story: a marathon world record holder living with an arrhythmia and a fitted heart device, who had begun training to go again. We put the runner on air alongside the founder of the charity Arrhythmia Alliance across a radio day of interviews. The campaign secured 12 items of radio coverage reaching 4.2 million listeners, including Sky News Radio and BBC Radio London.
Boston Scientific wanted to secure UK wide broadcast media coverage using a spokesperson/case study method around the timing of World Heart Day.

World Heart Day is run by the World Heart Federation and falls on 29 September each year. It raises awareness of heart disease and stroke and of how people can reduce their risk. Stations plan their coverage of it in advance, which makes it a strong hook for a broadcast PR campaign.
