Case study · MS Awareness Week

MS Trust

88% of people with multiple sclerosis feel unable to cope, and 94% say it has affected their mental health. For MS Awareness Week, we built MS Trust's broadcast PR campaign around those findings from the charity's new report, which also highlighted a national shortage of 149 MS nurses. We put the charity's chief executive on air across a day of radio and TV interviews, explaining how the MS Trust works with the NHS to place extra MS specialists where they are needed most. The campaign secured 7 items of radio and TV coverage reaching 8.4 million people, led by Sky News TV, with BBC Radio Leeds and BBC Radio Shropshire.

About MS Awareness Week

MS Awareness Week is run in the UK by the MS Society together with the MS Trust, MS-UK, Shift.ms and other MS charities. It aims to improve understanding of multiple sclerosis and to challenge assumptions about living with it. It usually takes place in late April. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
