Case study · ADHD Awareness Month

Seik Psychiatry

Most people don't realise that what they eat can help manage ADHD symptoms. New research for ADHD Awareness Month found 86% of the public are unaware diet can help and just 8% know omega-3 can help, while 14% still believe ADHD can be cured through discipline alone. We built Seik Psychiatry's broadcast PR campaign around those gaps and myths, and put a consultant psychiatrist and functional medicine practitioner on air across a radio day of interviews, explaining how a healthy diet rich in omega-3 can sit alongside medication and therapy. The campaign secured 9 items of radio coverage reaching 2.0 million, including BBC Radio Essex, BBC Radio Norfolk, BBC Radio Three Counties and Heart Four Counties.

About ADHD Awareness Month

ADHD Awareness Month runs every October. It started in the United States and is backed internationally by groups including ADHD Europe, with UK charities and clinics taking part. Its aim is to share reliable information about ADHD and to challenge the stigma around it. It gives producers a reason to cover the subject, and brands with a credible spokesperson a way onto radio and TV.
