In the run-up to Christmas, Brits were buying to beat their energy bills. Live PriceRunner data showed air fryer sales up more than 3,000% and electric blankets up 651%, yet 65% still planned to buy as many Christmas presents as last year, and luxury advent calendar sales were up 400%. We turned that data into a cost-of-living Christmas story and put PriceRunner's tech and consumer expert on air across a radio day of interviews plus TV. The broadcast PR campaign secured 17 items of radio and TV coverage reaching 2.6 million, including GB News, Notts TV, GB News Radio and BBC Radio Merseyside.
PriceRunner wanted to secure UK-wide broadcast coverage using its own spokesperson and shopping data.

Christmas Day falls on 25 December and marks the Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus. It is a bank holiday across the UK and the peak of the year for retail, food and family stories. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
