Pineapple on pizza still has plenty of fans: a National Pizza Day survey found 45% of Brits back it as a topping. The same survey found Italian is Britain's favourite international cuisine, 46% prefer thick crust to thin and 35% say cold is the best way to eat leftover pizza. We turned the findings into a broadcast PR campaign for Fireaway and put the founder of Fireaway Pizza on air across a radio day of interviews, plus TV, talking listeners through the craft behind a good pizza, from hand-stretched dough to fresh ingredients. The campaign secured 9 items of radio and TV coverage reaching 3.0 million people, including GB News, GB News Radio, BBC Radio Newcastle and BBC Radio Lancashire.

About National Pizza Day
National Pizza Day falls on 9 February. It began in the United States and is now picked up by UK restaurants, takeaways and food brands as a light-hearted reason to talk about pizza. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
