Case study

British Heart Foundation

In Northern Ireland, 20% of boys and 15% of girls aged 2 to 15 are overweight or obese, and a survey of secondary school children found 17% of 11 to 16 year olds having fizzy pop or energy drinks daily, with one in ten eating sweets or crisps before school. We used those findings to launch British Heart Foundation's annual Food4Thought campaign, which aims to help today's young people avoid becoming a generation who may not outlive their parents. A senior dietician from the British Heart Foundation Northern Ireland went on air across a radio day of interviews. The broadcast PR campaign secured 25 items of radio coverage reaching 9.2 million, including talkSPORT, Sky News Radio and BBC Radio Scotland.
