- Having a healthy Christmas does not mean skipping the mince pies, but being mindful of overindulgence and cholesterol can avoid the January health hangover and strain on the heart.

- Research of 2,000 UK adults found 46% overeat and 29% drink too much alcohol at Christmas, while 36% exercise less. Cardiac deaths peak on 25 December, yet 18% said they do not worry about their heart health over the festive period.
