Around 1.5 million adults in the UK have ADHD, but only 120,000 are formally diagnosed. For ADHD Awareness Month, we built Autism & ADHD's broadcast PR campaign around the myths and stigma that delay diagnosis, including why girls are less likely to be referred because they tend to be less hyperactive than boys. We put the founder and CEO of Autism & ADHD on air across a day of radio and TV interviews, challenging the stigma of the ADHD label and showing the reality of life with ADHD for the person and everyone around them. The campaign secured 8 items of radio and TV coverage reaching 1.3 million people, including GB News and BBC Radio Suffolk.
Autism & ADHD wanted to raise awareness of its educational and support work for people with autism and ADHD.

About ADHD Awareness Month
ADHD Awareness Month runs every October. It started in the United States and is backed internationally by groups including ADHD Europe, with UK charities and clinics taking part. Its aim is to share reliable information about ADHD and to challenge the stigma around it. It gives producers a reason to cover the subject, and brands with a credible spokesperson a way onto radio and TV.
