New research among 2,000 UK adults ahead of the introduction of no-fault divorce in England and Wales in April 2022 found 'sadness' was the word most associated with divorce (44%). 55% of those who had divorced said the experience was negative, and 43% felt divorce forces people to blame and criticise each other.
