Tooway, Work From Home Week 2012
- The aim
- Tooway wanted to raise awareness of Tooway satellite broadband and position it as the answer for rural areas without fast internet.
- The message
- Working from home is not an equal opportunity: people in rural areas are less likely to have high speed broadband. A commissioned report links poor access with lower local economic output.
- The angle
- Working from home is at an all time high, with over a quarter of the workforce sometimes doing so and 851,000 people (3%) working from home full time. But 41% of people in rural areas do not get internet speeds that meet the government minimum target.
- On air
- A representative of the satellite broadband provider Skylogic
- The result
- 17 items of coverage reaching 828k, including BBC Radio Norfolk.
