The story

DEBRA UK, Summer 2025

The aim
DEBRA UK wanted to raise awareness of EB and EBS, and of DEBRA UK as the support charity for people living with EB.
The message
EBS, the most common form of EB, may affect many more people than thought because it is often mistaken for eczema or psoriasis, especially in hot weather.
The angle
As temperatures rise, many people may be living with Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex (EBS), a painful genetic skin condition often mistaken for eczema or heat rash. EBS accounts for around 70% of EB diagnoses, yet only 8% of people in the UK have heard of it.
On air

About Summer

Summer is a major broadcast moment built around the school summer holidays, days out, travel, hot weather and outdoor living. In England and Wales schools usually break up in late July, while in Scotland and Northern Ireland they break up in late June. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
