Acne is far from a teenage-only problem. For Acne Awareness Month, we built ZappedSkin's broadcast PR campaign around the numbers: 95% of 11 to 30 year olds are affected at some point, around 1.5 million UK adults over 35 have acne, and people with acne are 63% more likely to develop depression, while NHS waits for treatment have grown. We put a consultant dermatologist from ZappedSkin on air across a radio day of interviews, plus TV, explaining how its online service offers video and text consultations with treatment delivered to the patient's home. The campaign secured 10 items of radio and TV coverage reaching 2.1 million, including GB News and BBC Radio WM.
ZappedSkin wanted to raise awareness of ZappedSkin and the services it provides.

About Acne Awareness Month
Acne Awareness Month is marked in the UK every June by dermatologists, clinics and skincare brands. It highlights how common acne is, the effect it can have on confidence and mental health, and the treatments available. It gives producers a reason to cover the subject, and brands with a credible spokesperson a way onto radio and TV.
