Case study

Waterwise

A tap pours out 7.5 litres of water every minute, yet research found 72% of people underestimate it. If everyone who leaves the tap running while brushing their teeth turned it off for one day, it would save 446 million litres, enough to supply 2.9 million people. We built Waterwise's broadcast PR campaign around those figures to raise awareness of the Big Tap Challenge, funded by 10 UK water businesses, and position Waterwise as the UK authority on water efficiency. A former Olympic athlete leading the challenge and a representative of Waterwise went on air across a radio day of interviews. The campaign secured 27 items of radio coverage reaching 1.9 million, including BBC Radio Devon, BBC Radio Cornwall and BBC Radio Shropshire.
