Only 30% of autistic people are in work, compared with 54% of all disabled people. For Neurodiversity Celebration Week, research from Uptimize and the CIPD found 62% of employees believe their organisation fails to give meaningful support to neurodivergent staff, and we turned it into a broadcast PR campaign on why neuroinclusion makes businesses stronger. An author and neurodiversity expert from Uptimize went on air across a radio day of interviews, making the case that neuroinclusion is a proven way to attract and keep talent and to improve collaboration and innovation. The campaign secured 7 items of radio coverage reaching 660,000, including BBC Radio Derby, BBC Radio Stoke, BBC Radio Leicester and BBC Radio Nottingham.
Uptimize wanted to highlight how including people with different thinking styles, known as neuroinclusion, makes businesses stronger.

About Neurodiversity Celebration Week
Neurodiversity Celebration Week was founded in 2018 by Siena Castellon, then a student. It challenges stereotypes about neurological differences such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia, and celebrates the strengths of neurodivergent people. The 2027 week runs from 15 to 19 March. Stations plan their coverage of it in advance, which makes it a strong hook for a broadcast PR campaign.
