Case study · World Smile Day

SpeedDater

Meeting new people got a lot harder during the pandemic. For World Smile Day, we helped SpeedDater, one of the UK's leading singles events companies, show listeners there was still a fun, safe way to do it, with events online and in person across 24 UK cities. We put a SpeedDater spokesperson on air across a radio day of interviews, building awareness of the brand across the UK. The broadcast PR campaign secured 16 items of radio coverage reaching 1.6 million listeners, including BBC Radio Kent, BBC Radio WM and BBC Radio Leeds.

About World Smile Day

World Smile Day is held on the first Friday in October to encourage acts of kindness and smiling. It was first held in 1999 to honour the creator of the smiley face, and it is overseen by the World Smile Foundation. Stations plan their coverage of it in advance, which makes it a strong hook for a broadcast PR campaign.
