Case study · National Eczema Week

SEQuaderma

A bad skin day can be about far more than skin. A survey of 2,000 women found two thirds (66%) of those with skin conditions had faced prejudice or abuse over their appearance, and a quarter forced themselves to appear confident on a bad skin day. Around 54% of people in the UK could have a skin condition at any time, so for National Eczema Week we built SEQuaderma's broadcast PR campaign around those findings and put a leading dermatology nurse on air across a radio day of interviews. The campaign secured 51 items of radio coverage reaching 1.5 million listeners, including BBC Radio Oxford.

About National Eczema Week

National Eczema Week is an annual week in September that raises awareness of eczema and the needs of people living with it. It is run by the UK charity Eczema UK, formerly the National Eczema Society. In 2026 it ran from 12 to 19 September. It gives producers a reason to cover the subject, and brands with a credible spokesperson a way onto radio and TV.
