84% of Brits have a garden, but most use it for barbecues and sunbathing. With National Herb Day in early May, research by Ricola found 56% grow flowers against just 27% growing crops, so we built a broadcast PR campaign encouraging listeners to grow their own herbs and produce. We put a gardening expert and television presenter on air across a radio day of interviews. The campaign secured 15 items of radio coverage reaching 3.7 million listeners, including BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Sussex and Surrey and BBC Radio Norfolk.

About National Herb Day
National Herb Day is an observance that celebrates culinary, medicinal and decorative herbs. It is listed on calendars as the first Saturday in May, within a wider National Herb Week in early May, and began in the United States. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
