Case study · Remember A Charity Week

Remember A Charity

Only 7% of people leave a gift to charity in their will, yet those gifts raise around £2 billion, equal to 20 Comic Reliefs. For the launch of Remember A Charity Week, a UK wide initiative by over 150 charities, we built a broadcast PR campaign around a simple idea: an extra 4% would add £1 billion a year for good causes. We put two stars of a TV business programme on air across a radio day of interviews, encouraging listeners to consider a charity when making their will. The campaign secured 30 items of radio coverage reaching 9.2 million, including talkSPORT, Sky News Radio and BBC Radio Wales.

About Remember A Charity Week

Remember A Charity Week is an annual UK campaign that encourages people to consider leaving a gift to charity in their will. It is run by Remember A Charity, a consortium of charities that is part of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, founded in 2000. The 2026 week ran from 7 to 13 September. Stations plan their coverage of it in advance, which makes it a strong hook for a broadcast PR campaign.
