Crash-for-cash fraud is big business: insurers uncovered over 124,000 bogus or exaggerated claims, worth a record £1.1 billion a year or about £21 million a week. During Road Safety Week, we showed listeners how in-car cameras can help motorists catch out the fraudsters, putting an in-car safety expert on air for radio interviews and positioning Nextbase as a road safety expert. Alongside the interviews we ran on-air competitions, with the Nextbase InCarCam pitched as the perfect gift for young drivers. The broadcast PR campaign secured 26 items of radio coverage, 12 interviews and 14 on-air competitions, reaching 4.2 million, including BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester.

About Road Safety Week
Road Safety Week is the UK's biggest road safety event, run every November by the road safety charity Brake. It raises awareness of road deaths and injuries, and asks schools, organisations and communities to share safety messages. It launches on the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
