Case study · National Pet Month

Gocompare

An estimated 1 in 4 of the UK's 8.5 million pet dogs come from puppy farms, yet most people miss the warning signs. New research for National Pet Month showed only 32% think seeing the puppy's mother is important, so we built Gocompare's broadcast PR campaign around responsible pet ownership, from spotting a farmed puppy to the safety net accident and injury cover gives for catastrophic events in a pet's life. A spokesperson from the company and a representative of the RSPCA went on air across a radio day of interviews. The campaign secured 20 items of radio coverage reaching 4.7 million listeners, including Sky News Radio, BBC Radio Devon and Metro Radio 2.

About National Pet Month

National Pet Month is a UK campaign that celebrates the benefits of owning a pet and promotes responsible pet ownership. It is coordinated by the National Office of Animal Health and the Pet Food Manufacturers' Association, now trading as UK Pet Food. In 2026 it ran from 1 April to 5 May. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
