More than 7 million patients sit on NHS waiting lists and the cancer backlog tops 2 million, yet the UK faces a worrying shortage of pathologists, with 1 in 4 aged over 55. For National Pathology Week, we built Diagnexia's broadcast PR campaign around that crisis and the case for digital pathology, which scans glass slides for rapid referral anywhere. We put Diagnexia's Chief Medical Officer, an anatomical pathologist, on air across a radio day of interviews plus TV, explaining how digital pathology can significantly cut turnaround times and costs on referrals. The campaign secured 15 items of radio and TV coverage reaching 2.1 million, including GB News and GB News Radio.

About National Pathology Week
National Pathology Week is run by the Royal College of Pathologists as its annual celebration of pathology. It raises public awareness of how pathologists and scientists diagnose disease, through events for all ages. The 2026 week runs from 2 to 8 November with the theme Welcome to the Lab. It gives producers a reason to cover the subject, and brands with a credible spokesperson a way onto radio and TV.
