Dry Eye Syndrome is thought to affect up to 30% of people at some point, yet it often goes undetected by GPs and in the worst cases can cause blindness. For Clinitas, we used National Eye Health Week to build a broadcast PR campaign urging earlier detection and treatment. We put an optician on air across a radio day of interviews, explaining why the condition should not be ignored. The campaign secured 49 items of radio coverage reaching 2.1 million people, including BBC Radio Solent.

About National Eye Health Week
National Eye Health Week is run by the charity Eye Health UK to encourage regular sight tests and better eye care, so that avoidable sight loss is prevented. It usually takes place in late September. It gives producers a reason to cover the subject, and brands with a credible spokesperson a way onto radio and TV.
