Suspensions are soaring in UK schools, with 10% of year 9 and 10 pupils suspended in 2022-23, and NHS data suggests 18% of 7 to 16 year olds have a probable mental disorder. For World Mental Health Day, we built Beacon School Support's broadcast PR campaign around a call for mental health training for all teachers. We put the co-founder of Beacon School Support on air across a radio day of interviews, sharing practical strategies in classroom management and whole school planning to create a more inclusive, supportive learning environment. The campaign secured 8 items of radio coverage reaching 2.3 million.

About World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day is held every year on 10 October. It was started by the World Federation for Mental Health and first marked in 1992, to raise awareness of mental health issues and support efforts to improve mental health worldwide. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
