A single sanitary pad can take 500 to 800 years to break down, and finding somewhere to dispose of one is a common struggle. For London Climate Action Week, we built FLUUS's broadcast PR campaign around new FLUUS research: 46% would switch to flushable, biodegradable pads, 68% are unaware many period products contain toxins such as PFAS, and 71% have struggled to find proper disposal options. FLUUS's co-founder, a former doctor, went on air across a radio day of interviews to explain how a fully flushable pad breaks down in water within weeks, with no microplastics and no landfill. The campaign secured 10 items of radio coverage reaching 3.0 million, including Greatest Hits Radio London and Hits Radio London.
