Case study · World Travel Week

Tropical Sky

Switching off on holiday is harder than it sounds, especially for teenagers. New research found a quarter of teenagers (25%) use social media for over two hours a day on holiday, up to 20 hours on a ten-day trip, and 28% fear missing something at home if they log off. For World Travel Week, we built Tropical Sky's broadcast PR campaign around those findings and put two destination experts on air across a radio day of interviews, sharing first-hand tips on tailor-made holidays. The campaign secured 79 items of radio coverage reaching 4.4 million people, including Sky News Radio and BBC Radio Lancashire.

About World Travel Week

World Travel Week is a week created by Relations Group for holiday and destination stories in early November, when the travel industry meets at World Travel Market in London. Tourism boards, tour operators and travel associations have all used it for radio campaigns. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
