Hepatitis C is curable, but as many as half of the people who have it may not know. It affects around 214,000 people in the UK, so to mark World Hepatitis Day, Liver4Life and a pop duo launched a campaign to get people tested. We built the broadcast PR campaign around one simple message, that anyone who suspects they are at risk should talk to their doctor about a blood test, and put two members of the pop duo and a representative of Liver4Life on air across a radio day of interviews. The campaign secured 23 items of radio coverage reaching 13.7 million listeners, including Sky News Radio, BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio Solent.

About World Hepatitis Day
World Hepatitis Day is held every year on 28 July to increase awareness and understanding of viral hepatitis and the diseases it causes. It is marked by the World Health Organization and partner organisations, and the date is the birthday of the scientist who discovered the hepatitis B virus. For brands and charities with something useful to say, it gives radio and TV producers a timely reason to book an interview.
