Small businesses make up 99.3% of the UK's 4.7 million businesses, yet about 270,000 register each year and almost as many close, and 45% of SMEs saw revenue fall by between 10% and 50%. For Local Business Week, we built Salesforce's broadcast PR campaign around the problems local businesses face, and the finding that 72% see information technology as a positive enabler. A technology specialist went on air across a radio day of interviews, encouraging small business owners to move to cloud computing for its affordability, rapid implementation and portability. The campaign secured 25 items of radio coverage reaching 895,000, including BBC Radio Northampton.
