Lockdown turned Britain into a nation of home baristas: 42% of Britons said they were drinking more coffee, and about £2bn has been spent recreating café coffee at home. For UK Coffee Week, we helped Blue Goose Coffee look at the hidden cost, with 95% of coffee capsules said to go to landfill. We put a sustainable coffee expert on air across a radio day of interviews to talk listeners through the environmental problem with pods. The broadcast PR campaign secured 10 items of radio coverage reaching 3.2 million listeners, including Sky News Radio and Radio News Hub.

About UK Coffee Week
UK Coffee Week was set up by Project Waterfall, part of The Allegra Foundation, to raise money for clean water and sanitation in coffee-growing communities. It usually took place in late April, but it was paused in 2026 and no date has been announced for 2027. It gives producers a reason to cover the subject, and brands with a credible spokesperson a way onto radio and TV.
