Case study · World Infertility Awareness Month

The London Egg Bank

Donor conception in the UK has entered a new era of openness: more than 700 donor-conceived young adults can now trace their egg or sperm donor through the HFEA, with over 11,400 set to follow by 2030. For World Infertility Awareness Month, with UK fertility rates at record lows, we built The London Egg Bank's broadcast PR campaign around that milestone, explaining egg donation and dispelling common myths. Its senior fertility counsellor and senior matching and relationship manager went on air across a radio day of interviews, alongside egg donors and patients who used donor eggs. The campaign secured 10 items of radio coverage reaching 11.5 million, including BBC News, BBC Radio Leicester and Greatest Hits Radio East Midlands.

About World Infertility Awareness Month

World Infertility Awareness Month runs through June. It has no single organiser and is promoted by fertility clinics, charities and patient groups in many countries. It aims to reduce the stigma around infertility and help people find reliable information on causes and treatment. Stations plan their coverage of it in advance, which makes it a strong hook for a broadcast PR campaign.
